Rogue could appear in director James Mangold's upcoming "Wolverine" sequel.
According to Cinema Blend, there is possibility that Anna Paquin would reprise her role as the life-force absorbing mutant, as a grown woman. The publication mentioned that while Paquin could have become more mature in the film's possible storyline, the mutant might still be open for more learnings from Wolverine, also known as Logan. This conforms to the probable Old Logan story like of the forthcoming film.
Rogue and Wolverine have become close in "X-Men," "X-Men 2," and "X-Men: The Last Stand," so it would be great to see both superhero mutants in Mangold's forthcoming "Wolverine" sequel, now that Hugh Jackman has confirmed that it would be his final cinematic appearance as the adamantium-clawed mutant.
Along with fans' hopes of seeing Paquin's Rogue in the big screen after some years, the actress also confirmed in her tweet on Sept. 28 that she would not be reprising her mutant role in Marvel's upcoming film "Gambit," which stars Channing Tatum and Lea Seydoux.
According to Cinema Blend, Paquin's revelation was disappointing for Marvel fans, since Rogue and Gambit had a relationship in the comics and animated series.
Mangold's "Wolverine" sequel will also see Patrick Stewart, reprising his role as the old Charles Xavier/ Professor X. Also, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" actor Liev Schreiber has revealed that James Mangold's untitled "Wolverine" sequel will center on an old Logan, along with his interest on reprising his role as Sabretooth in the film.
Meanwhile, Jackman is set to reprise his mutant role in Bryan Singer's forthcoming Marvel Comics film "X-Men: Apocalypse." The film stars Ian McKellen, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Lucas Till, Evan Peters, Lana Condor, Sophie Turner, Alexandra Shipp, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Tye Sheridan, Ben Hardy, Rose Byrne, Josh Helman, and Oscar Isaac, among others.
Fans will see Wolverine in Singer's "X-Men: Apocalypse," which is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on May 27, 2016, and in Mangold's "Wolverine" sequel, which hits theaters on Mar. 3, 2017.
