The family of deceased actor Robin Williams agreed to settle their dispute over his estate out of court. But the terms of settlement are confidential.
People reports that Susan Schneider Williams agreed to drop her petition to the relief of the comedian's three children, Zachary, Zelda and Cody. With this development, Susan said in a statement on Friday, "I can live in peace knowing that my husband's wishes were honored."
Susan filed in December 2014 a petition because she allegedly did not get enough money to maintain Robin's estate in Tiburon, California where the couple lived before he committed suicide that year after a bout with depression. It was not just money the stepmother and Robin's kids were fighting over but also his personal belongings such as the actor's bikes, awards, watches and family photos.
She asked the court to exclude the actor's personal items that she said should be excluded from what the children should get. Susan also claimed some had already been taken by the kids without her permission, reports ABC.
The children accused Susan of "adding insult to a terrible injury" when she attempted to change the trust by challenging plans that Robin made for the property, which they considered went against the wishes of their father.
Among the items that Susan got to keep with the settlement are the couple's wedding gifts, some clothes, a watch and bike that they purchased during their honeymoon, according to Susan's lawyers. In turn, the kids get more than 50 bikes, 85 watches and a lot of items that the two camps did not fight over.
But Susan would get only a small part of Robin's estimated $100 million plus estate just enough for her to stay in their California home for life. She admits it was painful seeing majority of her husband's belongings removed from their house, but is thankful she got to keep a few sentimental pieces.
