Moto X Pure Edition, Moto Maxx, DROID Turbo, Moto X Style, Moto G (Gen 2), Moto X Play, Moto X (Gen 2), Moto G (Gen 3), and Moto Turbo are confirmed to get the new Android Marshmallow update.
All tech giants are gearing up to release the Android Marshmallow update for the devices under their hood. Motorola recently released the list of devices that will get this upgrade within the year, according to Motorola Global Portal. This makes Motorola the first company to announce a confirmed list of devices certain to get this update.
The first gen devices under Motorola are expected not to receive this update anytime soon. Moto E will also not contend for Android Marshmallow update. The reason behind this is most probably the lack of internal memory space, which is a pre-requisite to install Android Marshmallow.
The timeline of the roll out of this update for the above mentioned devices is yet to be revealed. The tech giant further revealed that it will do away with many of its internal features after this update. These include the Moto Migrate, Moto Assist, and the Google Chrome Assistant features which can be currently found in the Motorola devices.
The upgrade is will be at least 500 MB in size. It will bring the option of automatic backup in the devices, along with the support for finger print scanning. It will also get the support for the LTE connectivity and also the support for Bluetooth 4.2. Emergency calls will be more enhanced post this upgrade. In addition to this, API level 23 will also be introduced in the devices, according to BGR.
