Tom Hiddleston was glaringly missing from "Avengers: Age of Ultron" despite being seen on the set and now he reveals why his Loki scene didn't make the final cut.
The actor has become a fan-favorite in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, playing Thor's half-brother and god of mischief Loki.
Since he played Loki for the first time in 2011's "Thor," Hiddleston has reprised his role twice in the previous "Avengers" and "Thor" movies.
The fourth one was supposed to be a cameo appearance in this summer's "Avengers: Age of Ultron" until his scene was mysteriously removed without notice.
An earlier interview from Telegraph.co.uk with Idris Elba, who plays Heimdall, confirmed that both he and Hiddleston would appear in last summer's "The Avengers" sequel. But, as we know by now, only Elba's scene made it to the final cut.
In an interview with Digital Spy, Hiddleston finally uncovered the mystery for his thousands of fans as to why his Loki-scenes weren't part of the movie after being spotted on the set of film.
Hiddleston says that his scene was indeed the one in Thor's dream sequence. However, test screenings of the film exposed the audience's wrong conclusions about Loki's role.
They had this idea that Loki could possibly be controlling Ultron which was far from it.
The god of mischief had no role whatsoever in the movie other than to tease an upcoming movie, "Thor: Ragnarok," with the dream sequence.
That wasn't the case and so Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige and director Joss Whedon decided that Loki would be a distraction so they promptly removed his only scene in the movie.
It was a difficult but necessary decision for sure. Check out Hiddleston's interview below.
