Tech giant Microsoft recently announced the Surface Book, a flagship device that doubles both as a laptop and a tablet. The Surface Book packs some of the most impressive hardware specs currently available in the market and it also sports a fresh and innovative design.
The Surface Book has a 13.5-inch display which works well as a tablet but can also be attached into a keyboard in order for it to work like a laptop. It supports resolution up to 3000x2000 and 267pixel per inch density, according to Kotaku.
One of the most interest part of the Surface Book's design is its hinge which Microsoft called a dynamic fulcrum. While it leaves a noticeable gap when the device is fully closed. However, it also elevates the screen at a good angle when the screen is flipped around to be used as a tablet.
According to The Verge, the Surface Book has the latest Skylake-based i5 and i7 processors. The device also has an Nvidia GeForce graphics processing unit. However, the GPU is installed on the keyboard so users need to connect it to the tablet in order to harness its power.
The Microsoft Surface Book also comes in with a Surface Pen which works in the same way that a stylus does. Microsoft claims that the Surface Book packs enough battery power to last for up to 12 hours.
The Surface Book has 16GB of internal memory and 512GB of storage space.
The Surface Book will go on sale starting Oct. 26 and will fetch a price tag of $1,499 for the base model. Interested buyers can preorder the device starting Oct. 7.
