Selena Gomez made some startling revelations during an interview when she declared that has undergone chemotherapy treatment in 2013 as she was suffering from lupus.
The 23-year-old speaking with Billboard ahead of the release of her second studio album, "Revival," on Oct. 9, when she disclosed the reason behind her disappearance in 2013. At the time, the singer had cancelled Australian and Asian leg of her tour and was rarely sighted in public, triggering the rumor that she is seeking rehab due to her addiction issues.
'I wanted so badly to say, "You guys have no idea. I'm in chemotherapy. You're a**holes",' said the former Disney star before further adding that she locked herself away until she was confident and healthy again.
The "Hotel Transylvania 2" star also said that being the subject of gossip while she was ill and seeking chemotherapy was quite hurtful. Gomez also added that despite her being nice to everybody and being a UNICEF ambassador since the age of 17, she has increasingly become the subject of tabloid gossip.
Speaking about her upcoming album, Gomez declared that it was the hate that motivated her and resulted in her new found confidence. The recently released lead single, "Good For You," is already peaking at number five on the Billboard charts, becoming her highest-charting US single to date, Daily Mail reported.
Meanwhile, the "Monte Carlo" actress took to Instagram to upload a mini-video to announce the launch of Revival world tour that will happen in U.S. and Canada from May to July.
