Episode 4 "What Lies Beneath" sees Rick solve the case of someone who he greatly admired. According to the synopsis for the upcoming segment of "Castle" Season 8, Rick's favourite author and his idol is murdered. When Rick finds out, he decides to solve the case himself.
Rick and Kate begin the investigation only to discover some dark secrets. As the estranged couple delves further into the mystery, they find out that truth is far from what they had imagined.
A promo video for "Castle" Season 8 teases the events of Episode 4 "What Lies Beneath." The trailer gives of glimpse of some funny moments while Castle, Esposito and Ryan are investigate a friend of the victim.
Another promo video teases a "moment of truth" for Rick and Kate. "There is no greater betrayal than a lie in marriage," Castle says in the promo. Scroll down to watch the videos.
Meanwhile, speaking to Headlines & Global News, Nathan Fillion assured that Kate and Rick are "going to be fine." They want to "bring the fun back to 'Castle.'" "We really want to get back to that thing where people are rooting for this couple. Where it gets them all worked up again," the actor continued.
