There are new rumors about the upcoming "Jurassic World 2" movie as director Colin Trevorrow has confirmed that he will not be directing the next installment.
While speaking on the Jurassic Cast Podcast via YouTube, the 39-year-old director unveiled the famous "Jurassic Park" quote that will inspire the upcoming movie.
Trevorrow said, "Jurassic World is all based on Ian Malcolm's quote, 'You stood on the shoulders of geniuses to accomplish something as fast as you could, and before you even knew what you had, you patented it, and packaged it, and slapped it on a plastic lunchbox, and now you wanna sell it.' That to me is Jurassic World."
The director added that that is why he had the entire product placement and that is what it was. The director explained how he would not want "Jurassic World 2" to be a usual sequel that only goes bigger.
Trevorrow said that the upcoming movie will be unique because the fans have provided a platform for the film to be taken to the next level, Movies Talk reported. He added, "I feel very strongly that it's not about more dinosaurs or bigger and better dinosaurs."
The former director added that characters Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) and Claire Dearing (Dallas Bryce-Howard) will return in the upcoming sequel to reprise their roles, adding that both are somehow responsible for the incidences in the first film. However, he pointed out that these characters will not be in the same place that they were in the first installment.
Talking to The Hollywood Reporter, the 39-year-old renowned filmmaker compared his work to the hit "Star Wars" that had different directors involved in the development of the franchise.
Trevorrow said, "Jurassic Park is like Star Wars. Different directors can give a different taste to each movie."
In "Jurassic World," fans saw Grady and Dearing opening a Pandora's Box and each of them has an influence on the events that happened initially.
"Jurassic World" cast members also include Ty Simpkings, Jake Johnson, Vincent D'Onofrio, Nick Robinson, and BD Wong.
"Jurassic World 2" is slated to hit the theaters on June 22, 2018.
