According to recent reports, the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update is now rolling out to the Huawei Ascend P7.
The new update was rolled-out over the air and will take some time to reach all users of Ascend P7. Furthermore, users can go to Huawei's official website to download the firmware.
Ascend P7 users should go to Settings > About device > Software update > Check for updates to check if they have got the over-the-air update.
The download size of the update comes to 1.26 GB on the device; needs a Wi-Fi connection and 50% battery life to proceed, according to Softpedia. The Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update will bring several improvements to the device.
After installation of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, users can check out newer aspects such as task switcher animation effects working faster, improved battery life of the smartphone and revamped user interface.
The Huawei Ascend P7 sports a 5-inch screen, 16 GB internal storage that can be expanded via microSD card, a Quad-core 1.8 GHz Cortex-A9 processor, according to Computer World. It is available in pink, white and black colours.
In addition, the handset also has a 13 MP primary camera with full HD video recording support, autofocus and LED flash. Ascend P7 has an 8 MP front-facing camera.
Earlier this month, variants of Ascend Mate7 - MT7-TL10 and MT7-L09 - also got the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update. In June, the smartphone manufacturer had opened a public beta to test the new update for the Ascend P7.
At that time, it was assumed that the soak test for the Ascend P7 would likely be through by July or August and then released for the owners of the smartphone.
However, the software update took longer than expected to make its way to users of Ascend P7 and comes after a gap of many months after the release of public beta.
