Zack Snyder's upcoming DC Comics film "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" may be the most expensive film in history.
According to Latino Review, the reported production budget for Snyder's forthcoming film is nearly $410 million, which exceeds the $225 million production budget of his "Man of Steel." The publication added that Snyder's upcoming superhero film superseded Rob Marshall's "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides," which was the previous record holder with a production cost of $250 million.
There were three key elements that had led to the film's high cost of production, according to Screen Rant. These factors included the addition of characters like Batman, Lex Luthor, and Wonder Woman, landing bigger stars like Ben Affleck, the cost of practical effects, and the postponement of the film's production schedule.
Along with its large production budget and big titular characters, Snyder's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is assumed to stand as one of DC's ace films that will contend with the films of its rival studio, Marvel, in the industry.
Directed by Snyder, "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" will lead to the rise of the superhero team Justice League. Aside from Eisenberg, the film also stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, Ray Fisher, and Amy Adams, among others.
Snyder's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is set to be aired in two separate teasers on Oct. 26 while the film is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on Mar. 25, 2016.
