HTC released a new flagship phone in its portfolio, the HTC One A9. It was announced at the smartphone's launch that it will be cheaper than the M9 and it is targeting a different price bracket.
HTC was the first smartphone manufacturer to make its phones from metals. Clearly, the company has not yet drifted from this as the A9 embraced the same metal design trend incorporating a unibody metal chassis.
As posted on the HTC website, the A9 has rounded sides measuring 7.2mm combined with the handset and weighs 143g.
According to GSM Arena, the A9 also comes with a 13MP rear camera featuring sapphire lens cover, and BSI thus offering optical image stabilization. It is also characterized by a relatively wide aperture. Around the front, HTC One A9 has a 4-megapixel UltraPixel camera.
Based on the display, HTC One 9 comes with a 5-inch HD, AMOLED tech screen. The AMOLED tech helps the screen display deeper and richer blacks by electrically turning off the relevant pixels.
As for the processor and memory, HTC manufactured the One A9 with the latest chipset from Qualcomm's camp. This particular device has a 64-bit based hexa-core Snapdragon 617 SoC that is coupled with 2GB RAM. It also has a microSD card slot.
Moreover, HTC One A9 is running the latest version on the platform, Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Sense. The A9 also offers excellent amps for high-quality headphones and hardware support for the most excellent lossless audio.
Another key upgrade with HTC One A9 is the enhanced privacy controls that will allow the user to manage apps that access data. It also has a Doze battery-saving feature that detects and shuts down unnecessary features if the phone is inactive.
Clearly, the HTC One A9 is radical as seen from the specs. The HTC One A9 was announced on Oct. 20 and will go on sale in early November. If priced competitively, it will be among the best mid-tier smartphones.
