New details for "Sword Art Online" season 3 have been revealed regarding the show's launch date delay and plot details based on "Alicization" arc.
Several rumors and speculations are making rounds regarding "Sword Art Online" season 3's development as the release date for the third season of the anime is said to have pushed to a Summer 2016 premiere due to the scheduled developement for the "SAO" animated film, Youth Health reported.
Other reports claim that "Sword Art Online" season 3 might be shown by the end of this year, but there has been no statements regarding the claim as producers of the anime series are focused on the development of "Sword Art Online" film.
The "Sword Art Online" animated movie will be directed by Tomohiko Ito as the character designs will be handled Shingo Adachi and it will be produced by A-1 Pictures.
Aside from the launch date delay, rumors of the plot details for "Sword Art Online" will be based on the light novel's latest arc, "Alicization". "Sword Art Online" producer Shinichiro Kashiwada stated in an interview that he would like to see both Kirito and Asuna on the "Alicization" arc, although he did not confirmed that the storyline itself is the full plot for season 3, AnimeNewsNetwork reported.
Kashiwada added that he would also that the progressive novels in "Sword Art Online" are almost complete. In the SAO light novel, the "Alicization" arc will feature Kirigaya Kazuto/Kirito working for a private enterprise called Rath by VR crime division officer Kikuoka Seijirou. Kirito was chosen to test out a 4th generation experimental FullDive equipment called "Soul Translator" and observe its functions for data and side effects. Unbeknownst to Kirito, the experimental project was meant for military use but became compliant. It created a virtual world called "Underworld" as time moves a thousand times faster than the real world. Kirito became trapped in the virtual world and lived for eleven years as a child.
Past seasons of "Sword Art Online" anime has covered three VRMMORPG titles: "Sword Art Online", "ALfheim Online" and "Gun Gale Online".
Anime fans will likely expect "Sword Art Online" season 3 sometime next year.
