There are rumors that the Android Marshmallow update for Moto X Pure Edition and Moto X2 may be released in November.
Motorola is famous to roll out the Android firm ware updates pretty quickly. It is no different this time as well. According to Android Standard, the company is preparing for the rollout of the new operating system to its flagship devices.
The Moto X Pure Edition 2015 is slated to become the first Motorola device to receive the Android Marshmallow update very soon. This device was released earlier this year and currently runs on Android Lollipop 5.0. It is expected to make a direct jump to Android Marshmallow before the end of this year.
The Android Marshmallow update was released on Oct. 9, making Google Nexus 5X and Huawei Nexus 6P to be the first devices to portray this new operating system from Google. It is reported that Motorola is currently testing the Android Marshmallow update for the Moto X Pure Edition 2015 in the form of soak tests.
The Moto X2 Pure Edition and Moto X Style are also expected to get this upgrade really soon. The update may be rolled out starting next month.
Unfortunately, the users of Moto X 1st Gen will not receive this update at all. This device is not included in Motorola's official list of devices which are in line to get this update.
This firmware update will bring a dozen notable changes to the user experience of the Android devices. It will introduce the new "Doze" feature which can be used to hibernate the applications which are important. This will in turn increase the battery life of the device.
It will also fix the Stage Fright 2.0 vulnerability along with fixing the problem of device over heating, according to BGR. The support for 4G LTE data connection, finger print scanner, Bluetooth 4.2, USB Type C connection will also be incorporated.
