"Transformers 5" producer Akiva Goldsman has revealed why the franchise involved human characters.
In his interview with IGN, Goldsman said that there was "something really great" about the relations between humans and the robots. He also mentioned that that particular element in the franchise's films would have been something that one would not have wanted to throw away. The producer added that it did not mean that one could not have done all kinds of things for a little while.
Either Mark Wahlberg or John Turturro could play the lead role in "Transform 5," according to Cinema Blend. Wahlberg led Bay's "Transformers: Age of Extinction" following Shia LaBeouf, who starred in Bay's "Transformers," "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen," and "Transformers: Dark of the Moon."
Meanwhile, Turturro appeared in Bay's "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" and is set to be part of Jonathan Jakubowicz's action biopic "Hands of Stone" and Frank Coraci's Western comedy film "The Ridiculous 6."
Fans have last seen Bay's "Transformers: Age of Extinction," which was released in the big screen on June 27, 2014. Starring Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, and Jack Reynor, among others, the film has grossed an estimated $1.1 billion in a global scale.
At this point, fans are set to see "Transformers 5" in the big screen. However, exact details on the film director, central plot, characters, and cast are yet to be revealed, since the project is in its early phase of development.
"Transformers 5" is slated to hit theaters in the United States in 2017.
