While Amazon Music is not one of the top choices when it comes to online music streaming, the fledgling music app is taking a different route by integrating its services into the Android Wear platform.
Amazon recently announced that its Music app will be available for smartwatches running on the Android Wear platform. Now, Amazon Music users can control and browse their music just by using their smartwatches. Amazon updated its Music app user interface and added a "New to Prime" section as well as the new "Popular" tab. According to Techno Buffalo, users in the United Kingdom even have the option to check out the lyrics for a selected song.
Amazon also update its Prime Stations feature. It now appears directly in user search results. This allow users to easily discover new online radio stations as well as artists. The update will also allow users to find and play new music with lesser taps through the enhanced suggestion feature.
Another new feature introduced on the Amazon Music app is the ability to download music directly into and external SD card. Offline playback is currently available on Amazon Music but it is only limited music store locally on the users' hard drive. The new feature allow users to conserve space on their local hard drive by storing their music on an external memory card. This also allow users to easily transfer songs on other devices, according to Android Headlines.
Amazon started to roll out the update on Oct. 30. The Amazon Music app with Prime Music can be downloaded on Google Play.
