Comic Book considered reaching out to Saban and said that the firm had confirmed that the names mentioned in the tweet were in fact the names that would be used in the film. With this new information, this would debunk the names mentioned in the Collider's previous report.

According to Collider's previous report, Callum Oliver was the Red Ranger/Tyrannosaurus, Priya Patel was the Pink Ranger/Pterodactyl, Brian Olson as the Blue Ranger/Triceratops, Oscar Fernandez as the Black Ranger/Mastodon, and Teyana Jones was the Yellow Ranger/Sabre-tooth Tiger. Israelite's new "Power Rangers" will also be titled "Saban's Power Rangers," as per the publication.

Now that the film will use the original character's names, the film is set to see "The Shannon Entropy" actor Ludi Lin as Zack/Black Ranger/Mastodon, "The Martian" actress Naomi Scott as Kimberly/Pink Ranger/Pterodactyl, "Me and Earl and the Dying Girl" actor R.J. Cyler as Billy/Blue Ranger/Triceratops, singer-songwriter Becky Gomez as Trini/Yellow Ranger/Sabre-tooth Tiger, and "Betrand the Terrible" actor Dacre Montgomery as Jason/Red Ranger/Tyrannosaurus.

Meanwhile, the 1993 "Might Morphin Power Rangers" followed a group of teenagers who can morph into superheroes who wear colored costumes tasked to fight monsters that threaten Earth, along with the giant robots called Zords. The Zords can be summoned to battle colossal aliens and they can also assemble themselves into a single fighting robot.

Aside from Israelite as the film's director, "X-Men: First Class" writers Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz are on board to pen the script of the upcoming "Power Rangers."

Israelite's "Saban's Power Rangers" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on Jan. 13, 2017.
