As an actress, Angeline Jolie has accepted the fact that she would need to go naked on some scenes in her movies, notwithstanding her double mastectomy surgery. However, she has one condition when shooting nude scenes.
People reports that Angelina makes sure that the production crew would keep off the set oldest son Maddox when she is bare or shooting love scenes. Maddox is a gofer in the production of "By the Sea," a 1970s marital drama that she wrote, produced and directed.
"He'd be there for the lighter scenes or funnier ones, but obviously we had a rule that for certain scenes he was on lockdown, not on set," Angelina explains.
Since the movie casts her opposite husband Brad Pitt, it made the A-lister rethink some of the nude scenes which she wanted to cut or change, including one showing her naked in the bathtub. When she realized her physical and mental baggage were holding her back, Angeline admits, "I told myself, put all of that aside. Like you can't change or cut this scene because you've had a mastectomy, or because we're married and people are going to analyze this or that ... That would be cheating."
While filming "By the Sea" in Malta, Angelina recalls accidentally running into Maddox in the midst of preparing for a nude scene. She had nothing on except a robe, curlers on her hair and mascara that was running down her face. The 40-year-old mother shares that Maddox just shook his head when he saw her and said, "Wow, Mom. Nice."
Angelina, the daughter of actor Jon Voight, also grew up in show business. She says she would be happier if her children are not interested, but she knows Maddox loves it. It was while shooting the movie that she and Brad held their wedding and signed joint adoption papers for Maddox and another child, Zahara.
In the movie set in France, Angelina plays a depressed former dancer, while Brad is a novelist suffering from writer's block. Their characters often spy on a couple in the next-door hotel room through the peephole, reports the New York Times. The film will show in theaters this month.
