Recent reports claimed that the rumored iPad Air 3 will be released at a much later date, but it will be at par with the new iPad Pro.
According to the Chinese tech website MyDrivers, the iPad Air 3 release date will be in March 2016. Apple's move of delaying the launch of the Air 3 is to avoid overwhelming the consumers with the different variants of iPad.
Moreover, iPad Pro will hit the shelves this month, just in time for the holiday season. Apple most likely pushed the release of iPad Air 3 to prevent the tablet from stealing the limelight from the iPad Pro. The company is wary that the tablet will cannibalize the larger tablet. Thus, the device will most likely be launched at the end of 2015 or early next year the latest, according to Cult of Mac.
Apple is taking a new course as it offers more diverse product line by announcing iPad Pro and iPhone 6S Plus. These devices catered to the specific segments of the market untapped by Apple before. However, until now, Apple remained mum about the details of the launch of the iPad Air 3.
Meanwhile, rumors claimed that iPad Air 3 will sport a 9.7 inch screen display with 4K resolution or 2334x3112 resolution. This is better than the predecessor's 1536x2048 pixel resolution. Other expected features and specs of the device are A9X processor, 2GB to 4GB RAM, improved cameras, fingerprint sensor, and longer battery life.
The iPad Air 3 is speculated to focus on entertainment and media functions making it superior than iPad Pro.
Amid the speculations of the powerful specs and features of the iPad Air 3, the tablet is rumored to be way cheaper than the new iPad Pro. However, there is no official confirmation from Apple yet regarding the release date and features of the said device.
