Jay Leno is reportedly asking the NBC executives to fire Jimmy Fallon from "The Tonight Show" and have him take his spot. Insiders close to the veteran house claimed that Leno wanted to go back hosting the late night show after rumors of Fallon's excessive partying circulated online.
According to The National Enquirer, via Rumor Fix, Leno believes that Fallon's "hard partying" would eventually ruin the reputation of the show. The outlet reported that Leno has been in talks with the producers to axe Fallon, believing that he would do a far better job than him. He pointed out that it would be better for them to fire him now before he gets worse.
The publication further reported that Fallon's injury was not caused by an accident but it actually stemmed from a "substance abuse issue." The insider claimed that the late night host was seen multiple times with people who use cocaine, adding that Fallon was slowly "spiraling out of control."
In October, Radar Online reported that the NBC executives sat down and spoke to Fallon about getting his act together. Although the host has been showing up for work on time and is always professional, they reportedly claimed that his incessant partying may be a cause for concern.
Executive producer Lorne Michaels, however, came to Fallon's defense and said that he does not go out every single night. Michaels admitted that the host loved to have a good time but that is about it. He added that he had a "very frank" and "honest" conversation with Fallon lately.
