"Dancing With the Stars" season 21 alum Alex PenaVega recently revealed that she suffered from bulimia when she was just a young girl.
According to FOX News, the "Spy Kids" actress recounted how some producers and directors told her that she was too fat.
At that time, the young actress felt she didn't have any choice but to go through extreme measures just to get rid of all the baby weight.
"For the next six years, I had an eating disorder. I struggled with bulimia. This was a part of my life I was scared to have people find out," she told her professional dance partner Mark Ballas.
Meanwhile, following her emotional revelation, PenaVega and Ballas received a perfect score from all three judges who raved over their performance.
Unfortunately, the 30 points that they received on Monday night wasn't enough to secure their spot in next week's round.
Following Monday night's episode, PenaVega spoke with reporters and said that she's pleased she already got her secret out in the open.
"I knew that one day I would talk about it, I just didn't know when the right time would be. And I'd opened up to Mark about it briefly over lunch one time and when Carlos talked to me last week, he's like, 'Babe, I really feel like you have to do this. I feel you can help people, inspire people.' He's like, 'Then you can let it go," she said.
In other news, there are rumors that fans didn't like PenaVega's strategy of revealing her eating disorder. Some fans believe that it was done to help secure her spot in the finals.
