Windows 10 has received its first major update called Threshold 2, bringing a bunch of improvements and new features to Microsoft's grand platform-straddling OS this November.
Microsoft’s latest operating system was launched on July 29. Users of Windows 7 and Windows 8/8.1 consumer edition can have a free upgrade for Windows 10 during the first year after launch. Also, Android and iOS apps will run on the new OS.
‘Threshold 2’ is free to download right now. Improvements and enhancements include in Cortana, Microsoft Edge, Start Menu, Skype Messaging, Calling and Video Apps, among others.
Cortana’s Learning Quickly feature will now recognise and understand user’s handwriting Cortana has also a power to keep track of events and other things to make things go smoothly. Update allows users to see any calls they missed from their Windows Phones. She also allows users to compose a text message on their PC and set it to someone else through their Windows phone, Trusted Reviews reported.
Microsoft Edge is the new browser included with Windows 10. The update addressed the issue of not syncing Favorites in the version of Windows 10 and the preview of what is going on in different tabs. Tab Preview feature will let users get a sneak peek of a website when hovering the cursor over tabs, which will save little precious time.
The Start Menu has changed again, allowing users to squeeze in up to four tiles side-by-side. It can hold an impressive 2,048 tiles. It would also recommend apps that may come in handy when needed, and users can easily turn it off, according to Gizmodo.
The Windows 10 November Update integrates the Messaging, Phone and Skype Video to the desktop. Through these three apps, the entire Skype experience is available. Message app also supports direct replies from the Action Center notification area.
Windows 10 November Update lets users choose a theme that adds some color to the white Titlebars that flank apps that have not been updated to support Windows 10 just yet.
The Windows 10 November Update does not add a lot of exciting new things, but it is Microsoft making proving that it can continuously improve Windows 10 instead of letting it pining away for years until the next upgrade.
