Contrary to the popular belief that she is past rom-coms, "Secret in Their Eyes" star Julia Roberts still loves romantic comedy movies and is open to them if a good script comes by.
The confession is made by the actress known for her "Pretty Woman" role who talked with New York Times ahead of the release of her upcoming movie "Secret In Their Eyes," in which she will be seen playing the role of a tough FBI agent.
"People say, 'Oh, she's against romantic comedies.' I'm not. I love them," said the actress before adding that it is hard to "find a true original idea of a romantic comedy for a 47-year-old person."
The one-time rom-com and box-office queen, who has for the last decade stepped back from stardom in favor of family life, will be seen again on-screen after a long time in her upcoming movie, also starring Nicole Kidman and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
Roberts has reportedly resorted to minimal makeup in the movie as she wants to portray the true essence of the character who is mourning due to the tragic death of her teenaged daughter. She admitted to having Kleenex while filming so that her eyes can have a milky and washed out feel that is required in the movie to give her character a sorrowful look.
The actress also disclosed that working with her husband made her feel more nervous and thus work harder. She is married to cameraman Daniel Moder for past 13 years whom she had met on the sets of "The Mexican" in 2000.
The two got married in 2002. Together they have three children, the 8-year-old Henry and the nearly 11-year-old twins Hazel and Phinnaeus.
"I'm like an air traffic controller," Roberts told E! News when asked about juggling home life and work.
"Secret In Their Eyes" is hits theaters on Nov. 20, Friday.
