NBC aired an action-filled all new episode of "The Mysteries Of Laura" on Nov. 18, Wednesday. The episode featured Laura (Debra Messing) hot on the trail of the killer who exposed an undercover cop and caused his murder.
"The Mysteries Of Laura" season 2 episode 8 titled "The Mysteries Of The Ghost In The Machine" begins with the discovery of a body of a car thief loaded with three bullets. The car thief turns out to be a NYPD officer who was working as an undercover agent Ricky to investigate illegal buying and selling of car parts both stateside and overseas.
Detective Laura and detective Jake (Josh Lucas) jump into the investigation by questioning the dead cop's family. It turns out that Ricky aka Detective John Campbell was constantly in touch with his family, especially sister, through video messages. Laura finds one such video which was sent by the deceased cop on the night of his murder.
Laura immediately identifies the place as a garage that was located on the Upper Eastside. The spot was used to bring and hide the stolen high-end cars until the matter cools down. Since the garage was located in a posh locality, nobody suspected anything fishy about the presence of luxury cars.
Detective Billy (Laz Alonso) and detective Meredith (Janina Gavankar) manage to nab the shooter alive. But the team was left shocked when they found a police file pic of a deceased cop with him.
It was concluded that their computers are hacked and the man who released the late detective's pic has access to all the information stored in NYPD computers. The team set out to find out the hacker whom they later tracked down at Hudson College.
It turned out that the deceased cop's teenage sister, with whom he used to share his every detail, was being cyber-bullied by a stranger who managed to track her on all her social media accounts and disclose her personal information in public. This hacker was once beaten down the late detective so he had a grudge against him.
