Smartphone companies, such as HTC, Huawei, Sony and Motorola have announced their Android Marshmallow update schedule for selected handsets. Now, according to latest reports, the tech giant Samsung could begin updating some of its devices to Android Marshmallow in the next couple of weeks.
According to a Times News UK report, the Android M update will rollout into two phases. In the first phase of Android Marshmallow update, Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge will get the latest update.
Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Galaxy Note 5 will get the Android 6.0 M update in December 2015. Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 will get the update in January 2016. Samsung Galaxy Note Edge and Galaxy Note 4 will get the Android Marshmallow in February 2016
In the second phase of Android Marshmallow update, Samsung Galaxy A8, Galaxy E5, Galaxy E7, Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 will get the update.
Also, Samsung devices such as Galaxy Alpha and Galaxy S5 are waiting approval for the Android 6.0 M update.
Samsung devices that are not mentioned in the list will get the latest update in the third phase that will begin after the initial testing, according to a Times Of India report.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which was launched in October, is the newest version of the mobile operating system from the search giant Google. Some of the important features of Android Marshmallow are support for Android Pay, Doze, Google Now on Tap and improved battery performance.
The Android Marshmallow comes with support for USB Type-C ports and comes with a feature known as the new RAM manager. Furthermore, the software is better protected against mobile security threats.
