Melissa McCarthy has lost a lot of weight since the premiere of "Mike and Molly." The actress proudly showed off her new figure in the latest trailer of the comedy film "The Boss."
In an interview with "This Morning," via Inquisitr, McCarthy explained that the real secret when it comes to losing weight was not stressing about it. The actress shared that she felt amazing after the weight loss. This is when she realized that she should stop "over analyzing" and "over thinking" things.
She shared that she went back to how she acted way back when she was pregnant. She added that loosening up and not worrying about her weight had helped her lose some more pounds.
The "Gilmore Girls" star lost a whopping 50 lbs by following a high protein, low-carb diet. According to Latino's Health, McCarthy's weight loss did not happen over time. It was said that the actress had been on a strict diet and doing several workouts, including Pilates and walking.
When asked about her inspiration, McCarthy said that she just wanted to look good for his husband Ben Falcone and set a good example to her daughters, Vivian and Georgette.
A few months ago, McCarthy released her own fashion line called, Seven7. She shared that being a plus size, herself, she knew how difficult it was to find the right outfit. She explained that stores would only often carry sizes up until size 12.
"People don't stop at size 12. I want women to get dressed every day and feel good about themselves," she said.
