iPhone 7 release is still far, but rumors claimed that the upcoming Apple smartphone will feature a 3GB RAM and waterproof feature.
It seems that Apple is catching up with the amazing features that consumers find in its rival. According to a latest report from research firm TrendForce, the next generation of iPhone will feature 3GB of RAM and waterproof design.
The report cleared that the 3GB of RAM will be integrated to the next-gen 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus. The firm did not reveal the memory packed in the iPhone 7.
The report added that the next generation iPhone will also be waterproof. The details remained unspecified. Although Apple did not mention, it is found out that the current iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus are somehow waterproof.
iFixit teardown the current smartphones and revealed their waterproofing capabilities. Both the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are equipped with a gasket around the sides, which makes them nearly waterproof.
Meanwhile, iPhone 8 is reported to sport an OLED display. The transition will be made in 2018, which is the approximate date of release of iPhone 8. The screens will be from South Korean companies Samsung and LG, according to The Korea Times.
Both companies manufacture OLED displays and currently use them in their respective devices. The companies have contracts with the Cupertino-based company and have been providing screens to the company.
"Samsung Display has recently renewed talks with Apple to supply its small-sized OLED displays for the next iPhones to be released in a few years, which I believe is around 2018," an anonymous industry executive told the publication.
