India has welcomed the low cost of the LG Nexus 5X just a month after the smartphone was released, although it is uncertain whether the low price is temporary or not.
Both the 16GB and 32GB models of the LG Nexus 5X can now be bought for far lower prices over at e-commerce sites such as Amazon, Snapdeal and Flipkart.
From an original price of Rs 31,990, the 16GB version of the smartphone can now be bought for Rs 24,573 on retail giant Amazon, Rs 25,900 on India marketplace Snapdeal and Rs 25249 on Flipkart, according to The Times of India.
In addition, the bigger 32GB model of the Nexus 5X had an introductory price of Rs 35,990. Now, Amazon sells the device for only Rs 31,990 while Snapdeal and Flipkart offer the smartphone for just Rs 31,300 and Rs 32,875.
Back when the LG Nexus 5X first came out in India, some people claimed that the smartphone was overpriced. Currently, there is no official declaration from LG, Google, or the e-commerce sites that the low prices are permanent.
Meanwhile, open-source operating system CyanogenMod has revealed that both the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P have been chosen to be able to support the latest CyanogenMod13 OS.
The first seven devices that were granted access to the CM13 OS did not include the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P, although support for the two Google smartphones was announced in just 24 hours.
Likewise, the newest CyanogenMod OS offers would allow Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P users to use the Wi-Fi calling feature that would prove to be a blessing for people under T-Mobile, according to Android Police.
While the CM13 OS downloads are already available, the builds constructed just overnight are typically unstable and do not readily offer the intended utilities.
Cases, such as features suddenly not working, are to be expected from the first release. The worse thing that could happen to the devices is that the gadgets could experience an endless rebooting that would be quite difficult to fix.
