Game developer Nintendo recently announced that "Final Fantasy VII" hero Cloud Strife would feature in "Super Smash Bros. 4" as a playable fighter for both Wii U and 3DS.
The announcement came in during the recent Nintendo Direct event that unveiled a trailer displaying Cloud Strife capabilities and smart moves with complete edge breaks. The developer company has not yet given an official date for Cloud Strife and Amiibo's appearance. However, fans have been speculating that it will be in December.
"Final Fantasy VII" character appearance was surprising given the tradition of not having crossovers from outside Nintendo System.
Meanwhile, Cloud Strife last appeared in "Final Fantasy's" Theatrhythm music spinoff and its sequel Curtain Call in 3DS, and "Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories" on Game Boy Advance.
According to Parent Herald, producer Masahiro Sakurai commenced online poll earlier this year. The poll gave fans a chance to vote for their favorite characters that they expect seeing in "Super Smash Bros." as DLC. Reportedly, Cloud Strife was the first new character to be revealed after "Street Fighter" Ryu last April.
As reported earlier, Cloud Strife is a renowned hero in "Final Fantasy VII" and the animated film, "Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children." The character as well featured in other games including "Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII," "Dirge of Cerberus - Final Fantasy VII," "Chocobo Racing," "Kingdom Hearts," "Ehrgeiz: God Bless the Ring," and "Dissidia."
While previous rumors indicated that Shovel Knight would appear in the game, the character developer company Yacht Club denied such possibilities.
Nintendo is yet to unveil any further details concerning characters and release dates for the game. Currently, avid fans can only wait for the official statement from Nintendo as to whether Shovel Knight will feature in the upcoming game or not. Watch the clip below to discover Cloud Strife's moves.
