Users of Sony Xperia Z3 Compact and Z3 who had registered for beta testing got Sony's concept build of Android Marshmallow in the week starting on October 19th, Android Pit reported. The build is getting its first over-the-air update. The update will be rolled out slowly, therefore, there will be some waiting if users are involved in the testing. The test is restricted to users in selected European nations.
Other Sony devices that will get the Android Marshmallow update include Z5 Premium, Z5 Compact, Z5, C4, M4 Aqua, C5 Ultra, M5, Z2 Tablet, Z3 Tablet Compact, Z2, Z3+ and Z4 Tablet.
According to a Xperia Sony report, the electronics manufacturer Sony is rolling out the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update to Xperia Z3 compact, Z3 Tablet and Z3. Reports also suggest that the Sony Xperia M5, C5 Ultra, C4, Z4 Tablet and Z3+ will skip the Android 5.1.1 update and go directly to Android Marshmallow.
However, there is no information on what devices will be getting the Android 6.0 M update first. Several reports suggest that the newer devices will get the latest version first.
Also, according to some reports, the Z5 Premium, Z5 Compact and Z5 will get the Android Marshmallow update in November or December. The release date will be dependent on the carrier.
App permissions, Fingerprint support, Now on Tap, Automatic backup and restore and Doze are some of the features of Android 6.0 M.
