An episode of satirical comedy series "South Park" sparked fresh controversy after pupil aged around 12 and 13 targeted their red-headed friends in school. The episode in question is "Kick a Ginger." "South Park" is currently telecasting Season 19 episodes focusing on the gentrification of the town and other controversial issues.
Students of seventh grade studying at Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle School were involved in an incident that the school called "unacceptable behaviour and poor judgment."
The school released a statement after the pupils took a shot at their classmates.
"Last Friday, we had an incident involving unacceptable behavior and poor judgement by a group of seventh graders. They chose to imitate an episode of South Park, called Kick a Ginger, in which they target red heads," reads the statement.
"We are outraged by the behavior and poor decisions made by a group of students and we are concerned for both the victims and the aggressors for the impact that this will have them."
The statement revealed that the school authorities came to know about the incident on Friday at 11:30 a.m. and it happened in stairwells and corridors during "transition times."
The students were immediately informed that the behavior could be called assault and they will be "subject to disciplinary action."
