While HBO recently hinted the return of Kit Harrington's character Jon Snow with the release of the first official poster of the hit fantasy series, several fan theories have emerged lately to explain the resurrection of the beloved bastard after his apparent death in season 5.

Since Jon Snow was last shown bleeding to death after being stabbed by his fellow warriors, a major part of first few episodes of "Game Of Thrones" season 6 is likely to focus on his comeback. Red Priestess Melisandre is speculated to resurrect the bastard as she is known to believe strongly that Jon Snow is Azor Azai.

After the death of Stannis, Red Priestess was shown in search of the legendary figure of R'hllor religion. Azor Azai is believed to have lived thousands of years ago and is expected reborn amidst salt and smoke and pull a flaming sword from the flames, Lightbringer, to combat the coming darkness.

It is highly speculated that Red Priestess will start believing that Jon Snow is harboring the spirit of Azor Azai and will do everything to resurrect him so that he can return to save the world from White Walkers, Wetpaint reported.

It was also reported earlier that the upcoming season of "Game Of Thrones" will unravel the true identity of Jon Snow. According to another fan theory, Jon Snow is not a bastard. On the contrary, he will turn out to be Eddard Stark's nephew.

The upcoming season is expected to show flashback scenes wherein it will be revealed how Jon Snow was born to Eddard's sister, Lyanna after her secret relationship with Targaryen Prince Rhaegar, Telegraph reported.

"Game Of Thrones" season 6 is most likely to premiere on April 24, 2016.
