"Black Panther" actor Chadwick Boseman revealed how his Black Panther suit factored in on Joe Russo and Anthony Russo's upcoming Marvel Comics slate "Captain America: Civil War."
Boseman is set to debut Black Panther, also known as T'Challa and prince of the African island Wakanda. in "Captain America: Civil War." In his interview with Entertainment Weekly, Boseman said that vibranium, a metal that was infused in Black Panther's costume, was dynamic.
Boseman also explained that it could change how it was used; it was not a liquid, but it had the ability to change shape and change form and still had its strength. The actor added that it was not about being durable; vibranium had the ability to absorb energy and the attack of another person and repel or respond to that attack.
According to Cinema Blend, Black Panther's suit will have an equivalent set of abilities to Captain America's vibranium shield. Steve Rogers' shield has demonstrated a balanced use as an offensive and defensive weapon, such as protecting the first Avenger from a huge fall and being able to absorb powerful blows from Thor's hammer Mjolnir.
Black Panther is set to team up with Iron Man's team, which includes Black Widow, War Machine, and The Vision. They are against Captain America's team, which includes Hawkeye, Falcon, Agent 13, and Ant-Man. Spider-Man is also set to appear in the film; however, no information yet as to which side he is in.
With Black Panther's suit sharing vibranium's abilities with Captain America's shield, it is possible that the two superheroes will also have a head on battle in "Captain America: Civil War." The Wakandan prince is also set to track Bucky Barnes the Winter Soldier, for a crime the latter has been framed for. While the Winter Soldier's metal arm is also powerful, its attacks may not be fully effective against Black Panther's suit.
About Marvel's upcoming "Black Panther," the studio has not yet finalized who the film director will be; however, it is noted that Joe Robert Cole, who is known for "Amber Lake" and "Revoc," is set to pen the film screenplay.
The Russos' "Captain America: Civil War" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on May 6, 2016 while Marvel's "Black Panther" hits theaters on Feb. 16, 2018.
