Jose Aldo or Conor McGregor will be joining Ronda Rousey on the cover of EA Sports “UFC 2,” depending on which MMA fighter wins the UFC 194 next week.
Former UFC Women’s Bantamweight champion, Rousey has already been tapped to cover “UFC 2.” All that’s left is for the UFC 194 winner to join her.
EA’s official website has issued a press release stating the deciding factor of which mixed martial arts athlete to join Rousey on the cover will depend on who wins next Saturday’s fight.
EA Sports has decided not to pick any of the two featherweight contenders at random, but will wait on the winner of the UFC 194, whether it ends up being Brazilian, Aldo or Irishman, McGregor.
The two MMA fighters will be facing off in Las Vegas, with the victor taking his place beside Rousey on the second installment of EA Sports’ mixed martial arts fighting video game.
According to IGN, this is the first time a real-world sports event will decide the cover of an EA Sports title. UFC President Dana White declared it was only “fitting” that the UFC featherweight champion be the game’s cover athlete following Alexander Gustaffsson and Jon Jones.
EA Sports announced “UFC 2” last month, which is geared to introduce a number of new features, including unique animations, realistic fighter reactions, more technique challenges, and better fighter creation tools.
The “UFC 194: Aldo vs. McGregor” fight will take place at the Las Vegas MGM Grand Garden Arena on Dec. 12 at 7:00pm/10:00pm ET, while “UFC 2” is expected to launch for PS4, Xbox One, iOS and Android in the spring of 2016.
