According to new reports, the software company Apple has plans to launch a new version of the iPhone 6c early next year.
The new 4-inch iPhone 6c will be available in multiple colors and will not have plastic casing. Instead, it will be a metal carriage casing. The handset is expected to have a 1.2-megapixels front-facing camera and an 8-megapixels rear-facing camera.
It is expected that the new 4-inch iPhone will have an A9 chip made by Samsung and TSMC, NFC for Apple Pay and 2.5D cover glass with curved edges, according to Independent.
In the United States, Apple's iPhone 6c will be sold between $400 and $500, which will be $149 to $249 cheaper than the 16GB iPhone 6s. However, the device will not feature a Touch ID and 3D Touch.
Rumors suggest that Apple iPhone 6c will start shipping in early 2016. The tech company is expected to ship 20 million units of the handset during the 2016 calendar year, Best iPhone Apps reported.
Meanwhile, according to a survey conducted by investment firm Piper Jaffray, 20.3% of US customers prefer a 4-inch handset, 31.2 percent of consumers prefer a 4.7-inch smartphone and 27.2 percent of consumers prefer a 5.5-inch handset.
According to analyst Gene Munster, the new smartphone will not have a major effect on the sales of the tech company. Munster predicts that customers will prefer the bigger screen sizes once they become accustomed to them.
He said that they think that part of the reason that 20% of smartphone owners say they prefer a 4 inch screen size is they have older model iPhones. When the users upgrade to a 4.7 inch screen, they expect those owners will be converts to the bigger screen size.
