While "Once Upon a Time" might have had issues resolved in its midseason final, the season is not over. In the latest trailer unveiled by ABC, Storybrooke citizens will face a possibly more horrifying thing than the Dark One.
In the new trailer teasing season 5B, Storybrooke is now the Underworld and the souls of those who died in the previous seasons are back to haunt the living.
An official synopsis for episode 12 titled "Souls of the Departed" reads, "The quest to find Hook begins as the town of Storybrooke becomes the underworld - where everyone you thought was dead and buried is alive and kicking!"
The promo reveals characters who died previously coming back to life as the citizens of Storybrooke cross the Underworld to help Emma (Jennifer Morrison) to locate Killian (Colin O'Donoghue), who passed on during the midseason finale events.
The video clip reveals some characters including Cruella de Vil (Victoria Smurfit), Peter Pan (Robbie Kay), and Regina's (Lana Parrilla) parents (Barbara Hershey and Tony Perez).
In the promo, Regina's mother says, "There are forces here beyond your understanding."
Events in the midseason finale were tragic, but the good news is that Emma is back to herself.
Talking to Mashable, Morrison said, "She's back to savior magic. Her savior magic is intact. There is a mention that in the initial arrival in the underworld, anyone who's dealing with magic is shaken a little bit, but Emma sinks into hers pretty quick. So she's back into true savior Emma form in terms of magic pretty quickly."
"Once Upon a Time" season 5 episode 12 is special not only for its plot, but also because it is the 100th episode of the series. As a result, many actors who played characters who died on the show will come back.
"Once Upon a Time" premieres on March 6, 2016 on ABC. Watch the trailer below for more teasers.
