"The Divergent Series: Allegiant" star Shailene Woodley recently explained why she thinks her character Tris and Four (Theo James) have a healthy relationship.
In an interview with Glamour, Woodley said that fans have become especially drawn to her and James' character because of how they support each other.
"People love that they support one another so much and respect one another. It's sexier to see a couple that aren't all over each other. There's no point where Tris questions how Four will validate her. It's about recognizing who they are and how they can support each other," she said.
Meanwhile, James also talked about Woodley's character Tris, and said that she's different from others because she doesn't play the role of a damsel in distress.
Even if this is the case, James' character Four doesn't have any problems showing his masculine side when dealing with his girlfriend.
"They're co-dependent, in a good way. Tris is in no way a damsel in distress but that doesn't detract from Four being a masculine character. They're two people in love but broken by the situation they're in," he said.
"They go from a burgeoning love story to two people genuinely in love," he added.
In other news, James also spoke with Elle about his natural chemistry with Woodley.
"It was kind of lucky in a way because our relationship naturally mirrors the relationship between Tris and Four. When you start a movie, you don't really know each other, you're trying to feel each other out. There's a bit of excitement, nervousness - who are these people?" he explained.
"The Divergent Series: Allegiant" will be released on Mar. 18, 2016.
