The Los Angeles Lakers are rumored to be clearing as much cap-space as they can for next year's free agency.
Another potentially doomed season are looming in LA as the Lakers are sitting at the bottom of the Western Conference rankings with a 3-21 record, second worst in the league.
With Kobe Bryant set to end 20-years of basketball greatness in LA at the end of the season, the Lakers are looking to rebuild and restart their franchise.
However, the Lakers first chance to regain their NBA glory would start in next year's free agency and part of their blueprint is to clear some cap-space to pursue top talents in the market.
Nick Young has been linked to trade speculations ever since last season, but it appears the Lakers now are "ready to move on" from Swaggy P, according to Mike Ortiz of DYST Now.
Young is one of LA's tradable assets, with the shooting guard playing one his best season as a Laker.
He is only averaging 9.2 points per contest, but that is on a very limited time of 19.9 minutes per game. If given more time, Young could become a decent scorer off the bench for any team.
According to Eric Yee of Lake Show Life, Young's trade value is at an "all-time high" and the Lakers could get a decent package for him.
A fan proposed deal on Twitter makes sense for the Lakers. In the trade scenario, the Lakers would give Nick Young and Ryan Kelly for Milwaukee Bucks pair of OJ Mayo and Miles Plumlee.
ESPN's Marc Stein has confirmed that the Bucks are open to explore trade options for Plumlee, with Milwaukee plummeting at the low end of the Eastern Conference with a 10-15 record.
Miles and Mayo does not have much trade value because of their limited minutes and outputs in the 2015-2016 NBA regular season, but their expiring contracts could be enticing enough for the Lakers, who are looking to clear as much cap-space to make a run next summer, when plenty of star players are available.
On the other hand, the Bucks probably need a defensive big man that can complement on Greg Monroe's offense, but Young and Kelly's ability to score could still be a good addition in Milwaukee's second unit.
The Lakers do not look like they need any additional help, with the franchise likely to miss another postseason, but ESPN's Trade Machine approved this type of trade scenario.
But if a deal could give the Lakers a chance to rebuild for next year, LA may consider such move.
