Slowly rising club Newcastle United FC (4-8-4, 16 points) hopes to extend its rare winning run to three games against cellar-dwelling Aston Villa FC (1-12-3, 6 points) at the St. James' Park on Saturday while the 2015-2016 Premier League season continues.
Newcastle pulled off a shocking upset over Tottenham Hotspur, 2-1, on the road at the White Hart Lane on Sunday to give new coach Steve McClaren his fourth win in the English top flight, as per BBC Sport.
The second consecutive victory was a feat for McClaren, who struggled to find a win during the first eight weeks of the season. Since then they had won four of their next eight games to stay off the bottom three relegation spots.
Meanwhile, Aston Villa lost the 15th of its last 16 matches to current league leader Arsenal FC, 0-2, at the Villa Park also on Sunday, via SkySports.
Rémi Garde's side was unable to snag any goals for the Villans while at the same time surrendering two from Gunners' forward Olivier Giroud and midfielder Aaron Ramsey at the eighth and 38th minutes respectively.
With the loss, Villa remained as the only team in the EPL this season with just a single win to show after 16 weeks of competitions.
The predicted result is Newcastle United over Aston Villa, 2-0. The Magpies are difficult to beat these past few weeks and it is projected that they will achieve a four-game winning streak against the lowly Villans this weekend.
