The Detroit Lions (4-9) fell from playoff contention after their second straight loss last week. They now face the New Orleans Saints (5-8), who are still in the thick of the fight at the NFC South, in a Monday Night Football match at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome to conclude Week 15 of the 2015 NFL season.
Detroit lost to the St. Louis Rams, 21-14, at the Edward Jones Dome last Sunday to take away their chance of entering this year's postseason, as per Yahoo Sports.
The Lions' loss snapped the Rams' five-game losing skid, helping their opponents stay alive in the NFC West.
Meanwhile, the New Orleans Saints also put a halt to their four-game slide with a 24-17 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last Sunday at the Raymond James Stadium, via NBC Sports' Pro Football Talk.
New Orleans is currently at the third spot in the NFC West behind division leader Arizona Cardinals, who already clinched a playoff berth, and second-running Seattle Seahawks who has an 8-5.
While their chances of entering the postseason are slim, Drew Brees and his crew are expected to pull off a win over the Lions on Sunday.
Prediction: Saints win, 24-14.
