"Fifty Shades Darker" star Dakota Johnson recently expressed her gratitude for having landed the role of Anastasia Steele in "Fifty Shades of Grey."
In an interview with Vogue, the 26-year-old actress acknowledged the fact that such an opportunity may only come to her once.
"It's just insane. I've never experienced anything like it - I don't think anyone has. It's terrifying - and it's exciting," she said.
Meanwhile, Johnson also hinted that she's worried that she will never be given such a huge role in the next few years.
As of late, she still tied with the franchise, and is still expected to reprise her role as Anastasia Steele in "Fifty Shades Darker" and "Fifty Shades Freed."
However, "Fifty Shades of Grey" director Sam Taylor-Johnson believes that this wouldn't be the case for the talented actress.
"I think it's going to take her to a place where she has witnessed her parents go. Now she's going to experience it for herself," she said.
Taylor-Johnson also revealed how she and the creators of "Fifty Shades of Grey" decided to hire Johnson to play Anastasia Steele.
According to her, they first wanted to cast an actor to play Christian Grey, and from there wanted to see which among the female actresses will have chemistry with him.
"We couldn't offer her the part until we felt there was a definite chemistry between her and whoever was going to play the part of Christian," she said.
"Fifty Shades Darker" is slated to hit theaters in the United States on Feb. 10, 2017.
