We have seen what Batman looks like in the 2016 DC/WB film, "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," but what we are not clear on is what are the differences with Ben Affleck's Batman when compared to Christian Bale's take.
In the December issue of "Studio Ciné Live," via Batman-News, Ben Affleck sat down with the publication to talk about "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," and about his take on the Dark Knight. He also went ahead and compared Jesse Eisenberg's performance as Lex Luthor to Heath Ledger's performance as The Joker.
This is interesting because after the second trailer, many viewers on Twitter and other social media websites, were comparing Jesse Eisenberg's performance similar to that of The Joker, but not in a good way. As we all know, Lex Luthor is a villain and sometimes an anti-villain, but he's no Joker in every sense of the word.
According to Ben Affleck when asked about the differences between his Batman and Christian Bale's take, the actor said he doesn't to compete with other versions of the character because they belong to another universe.
"I don't want to compete with other incarnations, nor do I want to emulate them," Affleck told "Studio Ciné Live." "Those versions belong in another universe. Christopher Nolan used his Batman to tell a finite story. My version is different, but remains faithful to the Batman mythology and all the themes associated with it."
Affleck also stated that Christian Bale's take on Batman is not a part of a universe where other heroes exist, such as Superman, The Flash, Aquaman and Wonder Woman.
Those who watched The Dark Knight trilogy realizes that Bruce Wayne took on the playboy persona to hide who he truly is. Studio Cine Live wanted to know if Ben Affleck's Batman will do the same thing so no one could figure out he is Gotham's savior.
To that, Affleck confirms his Bruce Wayne will court many women among other things. He does this apparently, to fill a void in his soul; and while other versions of the character dealt with their problems by seeking justice, Affleck's Batman is fueled by anger, bitterness and utter frustration.
It would seem as if this Batman has lost someone apart from his family, and this someone could be Jason Todd.
