"Boruto: Naruto The Movie" release may finally happen soon as it was announced that Boruto manga series will debut next year.
There is countdown in the website of Weekly Shonen Jump that has something to do with Naruto, which concluded in November 2014. More than a year after, Naruto's son, Boruto, will carry on the legacy and the ninja way.
A new manga series set in the Naruto universe has been revealed and will be titled "Boruto" after Naruto's son. The manga will debut in Spring 2016.
The manga is set in Naruto universe. This new manga series will not be drawn by Naruto creator Masashi Kishimoto, but by manga artist Mikio Ikemoto. However, Kishimoto will be hands-on and will be overseeing the manga development.
It was also announced at the Jump Festa event in Japan that Kishimoto will actually do a Boruto one-shot story in Spring 2016 for Weekly Shonen Jump.
"If I decide that I want to do more stories, perhaps I will, perhaps I won't. That said, there is nothing firmly in the works at this time. Just that there is always a possibility," Masashi said based on the translated interview of Kishimoto that is posted in Reddit.
Meanwhile, both the Boruto series and the Kishimoto one-shot will be published via Viz Media outside of Japan at the same time it debuts in Japan.
The beloved Naruto manga ran for over a decade. Although the Naruto series concluded last year, Naruto items still sells. This prompted VIZ Media in collaboration with GENERATOR to open the official North American Naruto online store.
