Microsoft is expected to release Windows 10 Mobile in early 2016. An official list of eligible of ineligible handsets that will get Windows 10 Mobile was revealed.
The Redmond giant had scheduled the final release of Windows 10 Mobile for this month. However, it has delayed its arrival and the update is expected to be released in early 2016. A Reddit user has revealed the list of smartphones that are eligible to receive Windows 10 Mobile OTA update when it arrives next year, Nokia Power User reported.
The Windows 10 Mobile update will be rolled out in three phases. The first batch that constitutes smartphones like Lumia 950, Lumia 950 XL, Lumia 1520, Lumia 930, Lumia 840, Lumia 640 and its variants, HTC One M8 (Windows), XDE, Phi and Money Penny will receive the Windows 10 Mobile OTA update.
The second batch consists of various Lumia handsets like Lumia 430, Lumia 435, Lumia 532 and its variants, Lumia 535, Lumia 635, Lumia 636, Lumia 638, Lumia 730, and Lumia 735. The last batch includes Lumia 520, Lumia 525, Lumia 526, Lumia 625, Lumia 630, Lumia 720, Lumia 822, Lumia 920, Lumia 926, Lumia 928, Lumia 1020, Lumia 1320 and Lumia ICON.
Both batches do not include any non-Lumia branded smartphones. Various Windows Phone like Lumia 530, Lumia 610, Lumia 710, Lumia 810, Lumia 820, Lumia 900, LG Lancet, Samsung ATIV series, HTC 8S, HTC 8X and many more will not be receiving Windows 10 Mobile update.
The aforementioned list has not been officially announced by Microsoft. The list of eligible and ineligible smartphones to receive Windows 10 Mobile OTA update is likely to change when it is released officially, Softpedia reported.
In order to install the Windows 10 Mobile OS, smartphone should be running on 8.10.14219.341 version of Windows Phone 8.1 OS. Other prerequisites include 1.5 GB of free inbuilt storage space, 50 percent of battery charge, and stable Wi-Fi connection.
