Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez was in tears backstage after the crown was taken from her and was given to Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach after the horrible mistake of host Steve Harvey.
In a video posted by Miss Universe, Miss Colombia still showed sportsmanship and, that while disappointed, she is okay with how the things turned out.
"Everything happens for a reason, so I'm happy...Thank you for voting for me," she said stuttering. She was smothered by her fellow candidates who shouted "We love you Colombia."
The beauty queen is all smiles amid the tears and embarrassment.
Harvey announced Colombia as the winner of this year's pageant. Miss Universe 2014 Paulina Vega seemed elated while putting the crown on the new queen thinking that her country won the title for the second time.
However, the "Family Feud" host apologized to the crowd on behalf of the organizers at the Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas when he announced the wrong winner.
"This is exactly what's on the card. I will take responsibility for this, it was my mistake, it was on the card, but the right thing I can show it to you, right here. The first runner up is Colombia. It is my mistake. It's still a great night," said the host.
The top three finalists are Miss Universe USA Olivia Jordon, Miss Universe Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez and Miss Universe Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach.
Fans immediately express their dismay and disappointment how the pageant ended.
