"Daredevil" season 2 will feature new set images of the show featuring The Punisher and Elektra, as well as a rumored March 2016 premiere.
New set images of "Daredevil" season 2 will feature two of the most lethal characters in Marvel Comics, Frank Castle/The Punisher (Jon Bernthal) and Elektra Natchios (Elodie Yung). The photos were first leaked on Twitter by username Comic News as the first image that the user tweeted shows a closer look at Yung as the dangerous assassin. The second image tat Comic News tweeted features Matt Murdock/Daredevil (Charlie Cox) helplessly chained to a chimney by the Punisher.
The scanned shots from Comic News were part of the next issue of Entertainment Weekly as they launched a clear and higher resolution of the photos with three additional photos featuring Matt Murdock and Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) playing billiards, Daredevil inside a church and Punisher entering a store. Matt and Karen's relationship will have a big step towards romance in season 2, but things will likely be complicated when Elektra returns into Matt's life as it speculated that both characters were romantically linked when they were in college.
The Punisher on the other hand, will be a ruthless vigilante similar to his comicbook counterpart and will act as an unlikely primary villain to Daredevil since that latter uses more brutal and violent methods against criminals in Hell's Kitchen.
In other news, rumors are making rounds regarding the possible premiere date for "Daredevil" season 2 on Netflix.
Cox stated in an interview that "Daredevil" season 2 will likely have an early launch date next year as Marvel plans on starting production with two other Netflix shows, Luke Cage and Iron Fist.
However, writer Franco Gucci claimed that the launch date for "Daredevil" season 2 is on March 2016, although he did not elaborate further reasons to support his claim, Moviepilot reported.
Several fans also theorized that "Daredevil" season 2 could likely launch on April next year since the first season was launched at the same month, Fansided reported.
So far, both Marvel and Netflix have not yet made any statements regarding these speculated launch dates. "Daredevil" season 2 will also likely feature Luke Cage and Jessica Jones in the show leading to "The Defenders" crossover series.
"Daredevil" season 2 will premiere sometime in 2016 on Netflix.
