Chelsea FC legend John Terry is reportedly considering a "most lucrative" move to China as one of his options when his current contract at Stamford Bridge expires at the end of this season.

The Telegraph reported that "Terry could earn £20 million net by playing for just one season in China when his Chelsea career finishes at the end of this campaign".

This report is after the England national team and Blues captain recently announced that he will not be back to play for the Pensioners after the 2015-2016 season. The 35-year-old center back also said that he does not plan on staying in England and play for other English squads to try and prolong his career, but he wants to go overseas out of respect for loyal Chelsea fans.

Aside from playing in the Chinese Super League, another option for Terry is to play in America and join Major League Soccer, the US's first-tier association football competitions. However, it is reported that China clubs could provide a bigger compensation than that in the MLS.

CSL clubs have been the biggest spenders during this January transfer window at an estimated £103 million so far and the latest big-money signing was that of Chelsea's Ramires to Jiangsu Suning valued at £25 million.

Ramires is reportedly set to receive around £10 million annually from the club as salary and rumors are out that Terry could earn double than that amount per year.

There are also rumors that the Barking, London native could choose to join Guangzhou Evergrande, the reigning and five-time CSL champions, as he went on a personal tour in Guangzhou last summer.

Meanwhile, the Blues' interim head coach Guus Hiddink is adamant that the door is not shut in Stamford Bridge for his team captain Terry.

"It was a bit surprising, but he's completely entitled to do so when his contract is expiring," Hiddink said, referring to Terry's possible China move, via the Independent. "I like him very much, the way he is playing and committed to the team - and he will be, I can assure you of that."

"I had some conversations with him in the past days about all kinds of things in football. Regardless the situation of the club and he is in now, he will be not just be professional, but with all his heart as well," the coach added.
