There are increasing rumors that Apple Inc is currently planning to hold a stand-alone event in March to release its latest products. However, the Cupertino-based tech giant will only focus on the new Apple Watch, the iPad Air 3, and a smaller iPhone.

While it is true that the company will introduce a new lineup of MacBook Air, this will not happen until later in the year after the March event.

Much evidence points towards Apple targeting its annual Worldwide Developer Conference to display its new laptops, according to Know Your Mobile. Besides the redesigned MacBook Pro, which has been waiting for a revamp since 2012, MacBook Air will have at least three new products added to the lineup. The industry insider revealed that there will be a new 12-inc inclusion, which may not necessarily be part of the Air iteration, a 13-inch and 15-inc models of the MacBook Air.

According to the insider, although the new MacBooks may be introduced during this year's WWDC in June, their launch dates will come in the later parts of the year. Rumors indicate that the release dates will be distributed across Q3 and Q4 2016, with the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBooks following each other closely in the third quarter at the earliest.

With regard to specs, 9to5Mac envisions overhauled specs for the upcoming MacBook Air lineup. The new laptops will have a revamp both in the bodies and under the hood, a way of maintaining the name that implies minimal weight and mobility.

The publication reported that the upcoming MacBook Air will sport USB Type-C and Thunderbolt 3 connectivity for a slimmer body profile. Furthermore, the iteration will integrate the new Intel Skylake processors to improve on performance. The new MacBook Air is as well thought to improve its Retina display and probably add 3D Touch as one of its features.

In addition, there are rumors that the new MacBook Air and MacBook Pro will be solar-powered. Apple recently acquired a solar-related patent, which reportedly will be used on the latest laptop and notebook.

However, the tech giant has not given any official information concerning the next new MacBook Air and MacBook Pro.
