The release date of the Galaxy A9 was made in December 2015, and speculations are circling around that Samsung is coming up with a better version of the handset. The device is thought to be named the Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro. It was visibly listed in an export/import database, and just recently, it was featured in the GFXBench.

Significantly, the listing of the device points out that Samsung is innovating a 5.5-inches handset, and this repeats the details unveiled in the earlier listing of the device on the export/import database. The Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro, as reported by Sam Mobile, with model number SM-A9100, is packed with a significant feature that includes 4GB of RAM onboard.

The presence of the storage capacity on the device is garnering much attention, and industry pundits say that this can be the reason why the mobile smartphone manufacturer is attaching a "Pro" label on the device, as it is an enhancement in comparison to the standard A9, which was released in 2015.

Other amazing features of the Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro are the inclusion of a 16MP rear camera, 7MP front shooter and Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Meanwhile, the standard Galaxy A9 only came with Android 5.0 Lollipop, but it is said that the Korean-based tech titan will upgrade it to Android Marshmallow soon, Gadgets 360 reported.

As to other specifications of the handset, speculations indicate that it will come with a 5.5-inches full HD display, Adreno 510 GPU and will run with octa-core Qualcomm CPU at 1.8GHz. The device, which has a 32GB built-in storage, will also include a microSD card slot to extend the external storage.

Finally, the release date of the Galaxy A9 Pro is expected after the MWC 2016, as Samsung aims to focus its attention on its flagship Galaxy S7/Galaxy S7 Edge, and let the device shine during the event. The higher mid-range handset can shine after that.

For reference, Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro's predecessor featured a 6.0-inch full HD Super AMOLED display screen, equipped with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 SoC that is backed by 3GB of RAM and Andreno 510. Samsung Galaxy A9, which houses 32GB built-in storage that can be expanded to 128GB via SD card, also sports 4000 mAh battery capacity, 13MP rear camera and 8MP selfie shooter.
