Smiling is apparently not metrosexual fashion icon Kanye West's thing and he has finally spoken about it.
"People, you know, the paparazzi, always come up to me (asking), Why you not smiling? And I think not smiling makes me smile. When you see paintings in an old castle, people are not smiling because it just wouldn't look as cool," said West at the Fashion Los Angeles Awards, Mirror reported.
West explained that when he was working on his sixth album studio "Yeezus," which was released in June 2013, he saw a book from the 1800s, which was velvet-covered with brass. He said when he looked at all the people's photos in the book, they look "so real and their outfits were incredible and they weren't smiling."
In the evening of Jan. 24, West was spotted with his wife "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" star Kim Kardashian on the red carpet at the Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C. while attending the 2015 BET Honors Awards.
At the event, the 37-year-old rapper received the Visionary Award and the 34-year-old mother of his child North was there to support him. The two were both wearing Balmain, according to Just Jared.
Kardashian took to Instagram to share a photo of her with her husband at the event with a caption, "Kanye & I tonight at the BET Honors! My baby received the visionary award!!!!"
Recently, West collaborated with Paul McCartney and Rihanna in a song titled "FourFiveSeconds."
This is not the first time West and Rihanna teamed up. They have also worked together on "Run This Town" and "All Of The Lights."
