Xiaomi's Redmi Note 2 and Huawei Ascend Mate 8 were released in November to garner rave reviews. Both are high-end smartphones offering cutting edge specs. Hence, both have been keen competitors from the beginning. It has been a tough call for customers to select between either smartphones due to their specs, features and price.

Here, we offer a careful comparison of Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and Huawei Ascend Mate 8.

According to NDTV, Xiaomi's Redmi Note 3 is a lighter device weighing 164 grams. Huawei Ascend Mate 8, on other hand, is a bit on heavier side measuring 185 grams.

Redmi Note 3 has a 5.5 inch screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, while Huawei Ascend Mate 8 offers a similar resolution but with a bigger 6 inch screen. Redmi Note 3 comes in two variants - one with a 16GB inbuilt storage and other with a 32GB inbuilt storage. On the other hand, Ascend Mate 8 variants offer higher specs, as one features a 3GB of RAM with 32GB internal storage while the other features a 4GB of RAM with 64GB internal storage.

According to GS Marena, Redmi Note 3 features a 13MP rear camera with a 5MP front camera; however, based on specs, Ascend Mate 8 offers a more powerful camera features than Redmi Note 3, as it has a 16MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera.

Tech Radar reported that there exist some similarities between both phones, as both have a powerful 4000 mAH battery with fast charging option. Both run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and offer dual SIM support.

If both smartphones have somewhat similar features, both phones also suffer from some flaws, According to the same publication. Redmi Note 3 lacks in offering a scratch resistant glass, memory expansion and option for a removable battery, while Huawei Ascend Mate 8 has a fingerprint sensor on its back which may make handling awkward for first-time users.
